History of Gulf Harbour Country Club

1997: The Beginning

In 1997, Gulf Harbour was bustling with activity as land developments expanded to include a new marina, apartments, townhouses, and planned residential estates. That year, Gulf Harbour Country Club Ltd opened, becoming a prized asset for property developers. A year later, the Club hosted the 1998 World Cup of Golf, featuring international stars such as Sir Nick Faldo and John Daly, who took on the challenging Robert Trent Jones Jr. design.

2005-2006: New Zealand Open

Gulf Harbour Country Club returned to the spotlight in 2005 and 2006 as the host of the New Zealand Open, drawing attention to its exceptional facilities and challenging course.

2008: Member Ownership

In October 2008, over 500 members united to purchase the Club, leading to the formation of Gulf Harbour Country Club Inc. Membership grew by over 150 members, a testament to the Club’s high-quality greens, Clubhouse, and diverse member events and benefits for the entire family.

2016: A New Chapter

In November 2016, GHCC 2016 Ltd. took over operations from Gulf Harbour Country Club Inc. The new management aimed to provide world-class facilities and services to both members and visitors, ushering Gulf Harbour Country Club into a new stage in its prestigious history.
